Look at all the weakling ***heads crying when the majority of the people want to get rid of the annoyances that their addiction brings.
First: free choice. A big part of the smokers is addicted to the point where they can't give it up even if they want to. So don't give us that bullcrap about 'it's my choice'.
Second: nuisance. Several aspects of smoking cause a nuisance to others. Some are even harmful. That's why people don't consider smoking to be a innocent personal pleasure when done in public.
Like someone said before me: with the right comes the responsibility. There are plenty of responsible smokers, but many more who just can't help themselves. ---

Bullshit. Both of my grandfathers are well above 70 years old, approaching 80, and both have been smoking all kinds of weird shit (but mostly cigarettes) since early teens, and they're both still perfectly healthy. Likewise, I've pretty much been inhaling cig smoke since I was born and started smoking myself at the age of 13 (21 now). The correlation between smoking and lung cancer has never been thoroughly studied or proven, but "secondary smoking" is definitely a load of bullshit. As for the smell, well, I can smell a lot of smelly ****ing ******es, hobos, drunkards and hippies in the public places, but nobody is complaining about those ***gots. And besides, it's not like you're being forced to stand next to smokers at gunpoint, you could leave if you're too much of a ***** to inhale anything but the fresh polluted city air.
It's weakling chimneys like this dude that forced the public opinion against smokers in general. Face it, you're a minority and now the public doesn't want to put up with your stink anymore. But it's not like you are being forced to give up smoking at gunpoint, so why does it matter?
There is plenty of peer-reviewed research about the increased health risks due to first- and secondhand smoke. But when you already look like a walking corpse due to years smoking...who cares!? |

Maybe his smoke got caught in your eyes, but I responded to Fabien Aldric in his own fiery tone. ---

Originally by: Fabien Aldric What about the hobos, ******es, drunkards and hippies then? They arguably smell a lot worse than smokers, and I don't see any of you liberal ***gots hurrying to get them off public places.
What's with this obsession for hobos, ******es, drunkards and hippies? If you don't like their smell, start a lobby to have them removed from public places. I am sure you little girl scouts can pull that off if you get your socialist heads out of your asses. ---

Heh, I am terribly judgemental indeed.
Most of the people that are on the receiving end use words and arguments to put me in my place though, instead of resorting to emotional name-calling and violence. When the latter happens I usually respond in kind. ---
